How to Live Before You Die

This one goes deep quickly so catch your breath and let’s dive in! We find ourselves killing time until _____, wasting time while waiting for our turn ______, or passing time scrolling until _______... (end of work, my turn, vacation...) fill in the blanks!  What if we had purpose and joy instead of boredom, lack of meaningful pursuit, distraction, and frustration?! WOW! Can that really happen for you? YES! Because I've seen it in my own life and the lives of my clients!

Ciszek - "Each day to me should be more than an obstacle to be gotten over, a span of time to be endured, a sequence of hours to be survived. For me, each day came forth from the hand of God newly created and alive with opportunities to do His Will…”

How can you do this to enjoy the day rather than dread it? We need to consider 1. the time we have right now and 2. how to think differently. Change the narrative and choose a different perspective. This time will never come back if we simply endure it. When we bring positive energy, hopeful thoughts, and renewed intention to make the most of the time we have been given, then we can have that time back in the form of good health, good emotions, good interactions and great memories to enjoy later.

Dan Allendar - "If we fail to anticipate thoughtfully how we will respond to the harm of living in a fallen world, the pain may be for naught. It will either numb or destroy us rather than refine and even bless us…” The change begins before the struggle. We may have had a hard day/night, but joy comes in the morning as we start the new day. This is the time to be intentional in thinking differently. Gratitude, meditating on truths, releasing the control and anxiety over things that are not ours to manage, and keeping track of who we want to be by intentionally choosing who our best selves will be…these are some ways to prepare to enjoy the day rather than wish it away. This is how to live before you die!

In my life coaching session on Purpose, we dive deeper into this topic with more intentionality on how you want your life to be.
